public research institution depending on the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Higher Education
and Scientific Research. INRAT conducts research in almost all agricultural domains and it is organized
in seven laboratories. The INRAT staff role is to organize, implement and publish research work, create
plant varieties and improve animal breeds adapted to Tunisian conditions, improve agricultural
production systems, contribute to technology transfer, participate in training and supervise students ,
engineers, technicians and advice to decision making by public authorities.

Gaïago FR Gaïago, France, has developed several effective products based on natural elements for all crops and soil types. One of the products, while revitalising soils also appears to significantly accelerate carbon capture thanks to higher fungi activity.
More research and trials is needed to optimise the efficiency of the product and to define the optimal usage conditions for higher carbon storage. Such conditions could include the type of climate, the type of soils, the adoption of other agricultural practices or products favourable to carbon sequestration, etc.Implementation of trials
