Lithuanian RDI Liaison Office in Brussels LINO organizes a discussion on Mission Driven Research and Innovation

2017-11-23 News

What could be the definition of the missions that would help to break silos and reduce the fragmentation of ERA? Will the European researcher and innovator community be able to set ambitious and specific targets? How much openness to the society and to the world should be integrated into the mission-driven programming? These questions and many overs will be covered at next IGLO Open event that will take place at the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the European Union (Rue Belliard 41-43) on December the 5th, 2017.

The one hour discussion is organised by the Lithuanian RDI Liaison Office in Brussels LINO. Guest speaker of the event will be Dr. Johan Stierna, senior policy officer of the European Commission, heading the RISE secretariat in DG Research and Innovation.

The Mission concept was introduced by the ‘High Level Group on maximizing the impact of EU Research and Innovation Programmes’ (HLG), chaired by Pascal Lamy. The Lamy Report recommends adopting a mission-driven approach in the next Framework Programme.

LINO office is a member of an informal association of Brussels-based non-profit R&D Liaison Offices (Informal Group of RTD Liaison OfficesIGLO) from 27 European countries. IGLO aims to facilitate and enhance the interaction, information exchange and co-operation between Members of IGLO, their national research systems and the European institutions on issues related to EU RTD, in particular, the Framework Programmes.
