Attracting Foreign Researchers for Research Implementation

 

The activity is funded under Measure 01.2.2-LMT-K-718 ‘Targeted Research in Smart Specialisation Areas’ (Funding instrument - European Regional Development Fund). The implementation of the measure is managed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania and the Research Council of Lithuania.

The purpose of the measure is to attract foreign researchers to implement research projects intended to develop results compliant with R&D relevant for economic sectors and that could subsequently be commercialised.

The call budget is €14,481,001.

Proposals should be submitted by the following eligible applicants:

Eligible partners:

  • Legal entities operating in research and studies that have been engaged in R&D activities in the course of the previous calendar year before the deadline for submission of the applications.

The project must be consistent with the operating plan of at least one of the priorities under the programme on the implementation of priority research areas and (social, cultural) development and innovations (smart specialisation) and their priorities approved by Resolution 411 of April 30, 2014 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.

Maximum project duration is 48 months.

Maximum eligible costs per project is €1 million.

Project implementation costs:

  • Personnel costs of PI and research group (unit costs).
  • Move costs of principal investigator and research members (unit costs).
  • Travel allowance (EU countries only) (unit costs).

Indirect and other costs according to the flat rate:

  • Research implementation.
  • Indirect costs (project administration and related costs).

Expected project results:

  • Patent application.
  • Other research production in accordance with the specific Smart Specialisation Priority.
