Answers to frequently asked questions regarding eligibility of research leader applying for funding of activity “Attracting foreign researchers for research implementation”
Research Council of Lithuania provides answers to frequently asked questions regarding eligible research leaders applying for funding of Activity “Attracting foreign researchers for research implementation” under Measure 01.2.2-LMT-K-718 ‘Targeted Research in Smart Specialization Areas’ in order to clarify of the requirements applied for research leaders described in the Sub-Article 4.3 of the Guidelines:
- According to Sub-Article 4.3 of the Guidelines a research leader is a researcher who has continuously worked abroad at least 5 years until the application submission deadline specified in the call and has come or is coming from abroad (having continuously worked in Lithuania for no more than 12 months until the application submission deadline specified in the call). Accordingly, the latest possible date of employment is 28 / 05 / 2013.
- Taking into account mobility of researchers, the mandatory period of 5 years of employment abroad can be interrupted for no longer than 3 months related to resettling. (In such cases the latest possible date of employment will be advanced accordingly.)
- Eligible research leader is also a researcher who was employed during the doctoral studies, if this period combined with employment after obtaining doctoral degree makes the mandatory 5 years.
- The Sub-Article 4.3 of the Guidelines specifies no additional requirements for the nature of previous employment of research leader. Accordingly, a researcher who has previously worked in other than research institutions is also eligible as research leader.
