Member at the Committee of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Research Council of Lithuania since 2018
Obtained his Bachelor‘s Degree in History at Vilnius Pedagogical University in 1996 and a Master‘s Degree in Philosophy in 1998. Successfully defended his philosophy dissertation ‘The Problem of Dialogue in Hermeneutics’ at Vilnius University in 2002. 1998-2008, worked at Vilnius Pedagogical University; since 2001, at Vilnius University. In 2003, obtained the Title of Docent. Since 2007, Docent at the Institute of Philosophy of Vilnius University Faculty of Philosophy (formerly Department of Philosophy and Centre for Religious Study and Research).
Research fields: philosophy of culture, philosophical anthropology, philosophy of religion, phenomenology, hermeneutics, and postmodern philosophy. In 2010, published a scientific monograph ‘The Dialogue Space. A Phenomenological Approach’. Author of the part entitled ‘Cynicism, Cynical Realism and the Cynical Consciousness’ of the 2013 collective monograph ‘Secularisation and the Culture of Now’. Published more than 20 scientific articles in various science journals, research reviews and methodical material.
In 2006 and 2008, received training at the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg (Germany); in 2012 and 2013 at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna (Austria). Member of the Executive Board at the Lithuanian Association of Phenomenology, Member of the Lithuanian Philosophical Association and Member of the Editorial Board at the scientific journal Religija ir Kultūra.
