prof. dr. Asta Pundzienė

Member of the Board of the Lithuanian Science Council from 23 November 2022.

Doctor of Psychology, Professor of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Group of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Kaunas University of Technology, visiting researcher at the Haas Business School of the University of California.

Since 2011, she has been the Professor of Strategic Management and Innovation at the Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) School of Economics and Business. Since October 2018, she has been a visiting researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas Business School, USA.

In 1997, she completed bachelor’s studies in psychology at Vytauto Didžiojo Universitetas (VDU), in 1999 – master’s studies in organizational psychology at VDU and the Free University in Amsterdam (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Netherlands). In 2002, she obtained a doctorate in psychology at VMU University.

Pundzienė interned at Stanford (USA), Harvard (USA) and Cambridge (UK) and other universities. She has more than 15 years of experience in research and innovation development and higher education management, held the position of Dean at ISM University of Management and Economics (2008–2010) and Vice-Rector of Science and Innovation at KTU (2011–2018). In 2012, she founded the first academic incubator “Start-up Space” at KTU and promoted entrepreneurship and technology transfer, in 2016–2018 she held the position of Vice President of the ECIU Network.

Her current research interests include dynamic capabilities, open innovation and governance of digital technologies applying them to digital healthcare. She has published more than 40 international publications, edited special issues of scientific journals, the latest of which is a special issue of California Management Review.

Pundzienė is the founder of “Baltic Journal of Management”, manager of international science and innovation projects.
