The Research Council
The Research Council of Lithuania was established in 1991. The Council is a counsellor of the Lithuanian Parliament and the Government on research and researchers training issues. It advises on the formulation and implementation of science, education and R&D policy. The Council also takes active part in program based competitive R&D funding, as well as promotes the development of Lithuanian researcher resources, fosters research activities of science and higher education institutions, and raises the prestige of science.
